Did you hear about those blogging awards?

BiBs and MaDs blogging awards

Okay, okay so I’m a little bit late off the mark with this – all of the other more organised bloggers had their ‘nominate me!’ posts live last week…But after much deliberation and a little nudge from Mum Muddling Through, I’ve decided to throw my hat into the ring and put myself forward for the BiBs (BritMums Brilliance in Blogging awards) and MADs (Mum and Dad blog awards). After all, you’ve got to be in it to win it right? You just never know…

I’m not good at grovelling and even worse at talking about how great I am.. But if you’ve enjoyed my blog over the past 15 months, I would love it if you’d consider nominating me. Who am I kidding? It would make me SO BLOODY HAPPY I MAY BURST!! A little bit like this…

I’ve poured so much of myself into this little space on the net and I really hope you’ve enjoyed the ride with me so far. When I first started just before I was about to drop I literally wrote for my mum – and I was cool with that for a little while. But after a few months I realised there’s so much more to be gained from blogging and you really do get out of it what you put in. So for all of those nap time hours that I’ve spent pondering over posts, editing photos, shouting at HTML and generally letting my house go to ruin, it would be ace to know that at least a handful of you have thought it worthwhile.

Mum in Brum blog

My first blog photo…

At first I thought I couldn’t possibly compete. I have my own favourite bloggers who I’m inspired by on a daily basis – I can barely find enough categories for all of them, so how do I fit in?

There are those who eat, live and breath blogging and you wonder how they possibly find the time to create so much quality content (You Baby Me Mummy, Honest Mum).

There are those who have me spitting back my morning cuppa as I laugh out loud and marvel at their ability to make even the most mundane of topics absolutely hilarious (Mum Muddling Through, Motherhood The Real Deal and Life, Love and Dirty Dishes).

Those who always entice me with their written word and ability to eloquently take on bigger topics (Not Another Mummy Blog)…

And then there are those bloggers who I admire for their sheer creativity – their blogs are so pretty, their photography on point and they have me scratching my head on a daily basis questioning why my Instagram photos just don’t look as good! (Mummy of Boy Girl Twins, Hello Archie).

Not to mention all of the brilliant relatively new blogs out there that have achieved so much already – New Mummy Blog, Life Unexpected, A Moment with Franca…the list goes on.

So where do I fit in?

Well…I would of course be absolutely flattered (flipping ecstatic) if you’d consider nominating me for the following categories…the instructions below are of course written solely for the benefit of my number one fan – my mum.
