From the minute Taylor discovered she could walk she’s been in her element. She absolutely loves playing in the garden and these past few weeks I’ve been leaving the wheels of the buggy in the car whilst she walks beside me on our daily dog walks. It’s like she’s suddenly discovered that there’s a whole world out there that she needs to explore – yes, it takes us an age to get anywhere but it’s so worth it watching her little face light up as she takes it all in.
Trunki ToddlePak review
I’ve always been a big fan of the Trunki brand – ever since I saw the pitch for the children’s suitcases on Dragon’s Den. And now that I have a child I can really appreciate products that are both practical for parents whilst also being fun for kids. So when Trunki got in touch with me before Christmas and offered me the chance to become one of their Chief Testers I jumped at the chance! The first product they offered to me for review was the Trunki ToddlePak, so I’ve been waiting for Taylor to become confident on her feet so that I could put it to the test!
With the beautiful weather that we’ve enjoyed this week, I arranged to meet one of my closest friends from school to take our dogs for a long walk and enjoy a spot of lunch. She lives near Mansfield so we chose to meet at Sence Valley Forest Park in Ibstock, which is about half-way between us both. Neither of us had been here before but it really is picturesque with lakes, forests, nature footpaths and wildlife walks.
The perfect place to test out the ToddlePak!
The ToddlePak is a stylish and fuss-free alternative to traditional reigns. It has two attachments – the training rein for toddlers who are just finding their feet like Taylor, and a lead reign for when they’re a little older. There are seven funky animal designs and colours to choose from – I opted for Betsy the cat which comes in a deep pink.
As anyone with a toddler will know, it can take some time to get anywhere when they’re on their feet, so I took the buggy along with us for when we needed to get a bit of a move on! The feature I love most about the ToddlePak is that the reigns can be unclipped without having to take off the entire harness – perfect for when you’re getting your little one in and out of a buggy, or when it’s safe for them to have a little more freedom.
The ToddlePak is also so easy to adjust and put on – it all fits from the front and is secured by one clip at the back. Since I first adjusted it to fit Taylor, I haven’t had to faff around with any straps or buckles, it simply clips on and off.
We had such a great time at Sence Valley Forest Park – it was so lovely to finally enjoy some sunshine and have a good old catch up in the fresh air. Taylor was absolutely worn out and getting hungry after about an hour of walking, so we headed to a local pub garden for some lunch.
I haven’t tried out any other reigns before the Trunki ToddlePak – and neither am I planning to. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for reigns that are both comfy and practical when out and about. Taylor absolutely loves hers and I now have to hide it from her whenever we’re in the house, otherwise she brings it over to me and starts pointing at the front door!
I’m so excited about our summer of adventures together.
In case you’re wondering, Max had a great time too!
