Harry & Rose organic baby skincare range – review and giveaway

Harry & Rose baby products

When Taylor was first born, we didn’t give too much thought to the products we were putting on her skin – believing that if products were marketed for babies, then they must be suitable for their sensitive skin. It wasn’t long before we noticed that she suffered from eczema and we realised that we had to be a lot more considerate about which products we use to bathe and moisturise her.Harry & Rose baby skincare

Now we only use prescription products from the doctor, or those that are made of natural ingredients and are free from parabens and perfumes.  As much as I love that ‘baby fresh’ smell that you get from perfumed brands such as Johnson & Johnson, they are a big no-no for us and really aggravate Taylor’s eczema.

I was recently contacted by Harry & Rose – a new organic skincare range specifically developed for babies. I of course jumped at the chance to review their products, as I’m always on the lookout for new products that are suitable for Taylor’s sensitive skin. I was particularly looking forward to trying out the Baby Bubble Bath, which was going to be a real novelty for us!Harry & Rose baby products

About Harry & Rose

Harry & Rose is a brand new product line created by parents Alba and Christian Cusworth. After having their first child, they decided to focus their energy on developing their own baby product. Their aim was to create an affordable luxurious skincare range using the safest, highest quality ingredients.

  • Made in England

Harry & Rose work with the best of British manufacturers to design a range that uses safe, pure, natural and organic ingredients. This also means that their products are more affordable than many other organic brands.

  • Sustainable Sourcing

Only the safest natural and organic ingredients (Coconut oil, Chamomile, Calendula, Cottonseed oil and Aloe Vera) are used in Harry & Rose products. All of the products are free from Parabens, Phthalates, SLS/SLES, Dyes, Mineral Oils and Fragrance Allergens.

  • Beautiful presentation at an affordable price

Harry & Rose take pride in their beautiful packaging and the luxurious feel of the brand. Yet because they manufacture in the UK, their products are affordable enough to use every day. Their Baby Bubble Bath, Baby Soft Lotion and Baby Hair-Body Wash all cost £6.50.

Our first impressions

We were delighted when our Harry & Rose package arrived. I absolutely love thoughtful packaging and do think that first impressions really count. Harry & Rose did not disappoint! The products were beautifully packaged in a ribbon tied gift box which really would make the perfect gift for new parents.

We received the Baby Skincare set which includes the Baby Hair-Body Wash, Baby Bubble Bath and Baby Soft Lotion. We were also sent the Hooded Bamboo Towel and Wash Mitt for soaping up the little one.

Our verdict

We’ve been using our new Harry & Rose products for the last two weeks now and we only have good things to say!

Baby Bubble Bath

We’ve always avoided bubble bath in the past as it tends to aggravate Taylor’s skin, so it was lovely to be able to use this organic alternative. This one is enriched with natural moisturisers, so it doesn’t dry out the skin and the natural products meant that Taylor wasn’t left itching afterwards. You don’t get huge bubbles, but there’s definitely enough to make bath time more fun and they did last quite a while in the water. Taylor was definitely a fan and now excitedly demands ‘bubbles!’ every time we run her bath.Harry & Rose baby productsHarry and Rose gift setHarry & Rose baby lotion

Baby Hair-Body Wash

With some of the organic soaps we’ve used in the past, we’ve found that they don’t tend to foam very much. This isn’t the case with the Harry & Rose Hair-Body wash, which works up into a lovely lather. It’s easy-to-rinse formula, also means that it doesn’t leave any residue and only requires a couple of rinses which any parent knows is always a bonus as ‘rinsing’ is never the fun part! This product again is packed with natural moisturises and we found that it definitely doesn’t dry out Taylor’s skin like some of the supermarket brands do.

Baby Soft Lotion

The Baby Soft Lotion is really creamy in texture and a little goes a long way. When rubbed in, it leaves the skin super soft and silky and we found that it has a definite calming effect on Taylor’s sensitive skin. I was surprised at how lovely it smells in comparison to some other organic lotions we’ve tried in the past which seemed to be totally devoid of fragrance, or actually smelt a little odd. This Harry & Rose lotion has a lovely fresh coconut scent.

Overall, we would 100% recommend these products. I can’t really fault them! In our opinion, they are definitely comparable to other organic brands we’ve tried that have a much heftier price tag and they fill a gap in the market for an organic product that is affordable enough to use every day.
