I can’t say that I’m sad to see the back of February – it wasn’t a horrible month or anything, but I’m just sooo ready for spring now and a bit more sunshine in my life. But to give February its due, it was a pretty happy month for us personally…
Our 20 week scan
Most importantly, we had our 20 week scan which went really well, it was brilliant to see that our little bambino is developing as it should be. I’ve also started to feel baby’s movements which is making it seem very real all of a sudden. And yes…we did find out the gender, but I’m not telling just yet! In truth, I’m still trying to think up fun and creative ways I can reveal it on here (most of which I will most likely never get around to actually doing and it will just be a quick blog post this week!) Either way, watch this space!
Finding our forever home
Another huge development in February was finally finding the home that we’ve been searching for. We instantly fell in love with it so we were ecstatic when our offer got accepted. We’re now crossing our fingers and toes that everything will go through okay and nothing will go wrong with the chain we’re in…Hopefully if all goes to plan we’ve agreed that we’ll move in mid June before the baby is due mid July. My fingers are already twitching trying to resist the urge to create multiple Pinterest boards for our new home decor (okay, I may have already created a few…)
My new MacBook
My two-year old brick of a laptop has been on its way out for a while and I’ve been pining for a MacBook. When my Samsung Note 4 phone came up for renewal this month I decided to go all out and make a long-term commitment to Apple, opting for an iPhone 7, and treating myself to a MacBook Air. Moving to a Mac is taking a bit of getting used to, but I do love how everything syncs, not to mention how pretty and light it is!
I’ve been reading ‘The Million Dollar Blog’ this month by Natasha Courtenay-Smith and it is by far the best book I’ve read on the topic of blogging. I’m not sure Mum in Brum will ever be a million dollar blog (as in it definitely won’t be), but I’ve certainly picked up some golden bits of advice from this book – it’s packed full of valuable interviews from other successful bloggers and it definitely makes you realise that there is so much potential and opportunity to grab right now. Every blogger should read this.
Remembering that ‘baby brain’ is actually real…
Not such a happy point this one, but one that I feel has been so instrumental to my February, I can’t help but mention it. I have literally lost my mind this month! So far I have…
- Booked theatre tickets for the date that we aren’t actually in London (and then realised they were non-refundable or exchangeable)
- Turned up to nursery on World Book Day with no costume for Taylor (thinking they simply weren’t ‘doing it’, despite reading multiple posts on social media of every other school/nursery in the world ‘doing it’)….
- Crashed by car (like driving into the back of the one in front on the approach to the roundabout…)
FFS. I wholly and completely blame my current metal state that is baby brain. I hope it f***ks off soon.
Did you have a good February? What did you get up to?
