Finding our forever home – and moving to a new city

If you’ve been following this blog, you’ll know that we’ve been house hunting since selling our house in January. The decision to put our house on the market was a bit of an impulsive one, but it felt like the right time for us to move as a family.

We bought our current home before getting married and having Taylor. We really didn’t give that much thought to the future back then and to be honest, we were looking for another ‘project’ – something that we could renovate to our taste. We renovated most of the living space within the first year before biting the bullet and investing in a new kitchen and dining area (including knocking down a few walls) when Taylor was four months old (#totalchaos)…

And I love our house, I really do. But I think we always knew that there was another move in us before properly ‘settling down’. In all honesty, I’m a little bit addicted to change and I’ve never been one to shy away from upping sticks and moving regions (in my adult life I’ve moved from Nottingham to Birmingham to Cheltenham to Solihull…) Luckily the hubby is even more impulsive than I am.

But the time feels right now for us to put down our roots and settle down in one place for a number of years – until we have teenage children in fact (#shitIfeelold)

So we made the decision to move to Worcester!

The hubby set up a new venture in Worcester in Autumn last year which has gone from strength to strength. We’ve also fallen in love with the city, its people and its beautiful countryside. We’ve been house hunting for quite a while – a task that gets much more complicated once you have school ratings and catchment areas to take into consideration. We also wanted somewhere rural with numerous dog walks on our doorstep, but not too far out of the city centre.

And we’ve finally found our dream home and had our offer accepted!

I don’t want to tempt fate with this post – we all know that anything can happen with housing ‘chains’ and so forth in this country of ours…but fingers crossed we are due to move into our new home in June. One month before I’m due to give birth to baby number two.

So there’s lots of change for us and hopefully a lot to look forward to.

Now, I just need to reconsider the name of this blog… 😉
