Admittedly, finding stylish maternity wear throughout this pregnancy hasn’t really been at the forefront of my mind. Luckily I was able to get away with big jumpers, oversized shirts and shift dresses for quite some time – so I haven’t had to invest too much in a new maternity wardrobe.
My quest for stylish maternity wear
But these last few months, bump has doubled in size and I have struggled to find stylish maternity wear in the shops. Aside from a couple of pairs of maternity jeans and plain t-shirts, I really don’t have too many options!
So when Bumpalicious got in touch to offer me one of their maternity dresses to review, the timing couldn’t have been better! I personally find a lot of maternity dresses quite ‘frumpy’, so I tend to avoid them. But I loved this t-shirt day dress, which is the type of style I would usually go for (with or without bump!).
The comfiest maternity dress ever?
At 32 weeks pregnant, I’m at that stage in my pregnancy where I’m pretty irritable and uncomfortable (just ask the husband). So comfort is definitely a priority! I love how comfortable this dress is to wear. The material is super soft with lots of elasticity so I know that it will grow with me over the next couple of months.
I also love how versatile it is. It’s perfect for day time, whether I’m at home with the toddler or at the office. But it can also be dressed up with heels and accessories to make an ideal outfit for an evening out (not that I get to go on many of those these days!!) It has definitely become a favourite wardrobe staple.
As well as maternity day dresses, Bumpalicious also sell a number of occasion dresses and formal maternity workwear, which I always find are a struggle to find on the high street. And the best thing about it? Their prices are so reasonable, and let’s face it, nobody wants to spend a fortune on clothes that we know we won’t be wearing in the not-so-distant future.
