Hi, I’m Natalie…
I first started my blog, Mum in Brum, to keep my brain from going to mush during my maternity leave – I naively thought that I might be short of things to do (ha!) and wanted to keep my brain active whilst talking gaga to my awesome baby girl.
Several months on and being a first-time mum and writing this blog have both become more fulfilling than I ever expected. Being a mum is by far the best job I’ve ever had, and the blog has somehow become my second child taking on a whole life of its own! I’m not really sure when it happened, but somewhere along the way I appear to have gotten a little obsessed.
Aside from the blog I’m also a freelance PR consultant and work part-time on the days when Taylor’s at nursery. I absolutely love my career and feel so grateful that I’m able to carry on working around our family set-up. I’ve worked within PR agencies for 8 years so know a thing or two about working with brands – and of course I’m a ‘PR friendly’ blogger!
I live in the West Midlands with my hubby, our baby girl Taylor, and cocker spaniel, Max – who still believes he is our first child.
Apart from recording my journey as a first-time mum, I also blog about our lives as a modern family and have a passion for interiors – which is a good job since my other half loves a renovation project. I’ve also recently started to share some of my experiences and tips for freelancing and working from home.
Other than that, I’m a fan of the outdoors and cooking…or perhaps it’s more the eating.
I hope you enjoy my blog and if you’d like to get in touch please do drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can read more info about collaboration opportunities here.
